It never ceases to amaze me how by stating your intentions that they find a way to happen. A year ago I stated an intention to find a way to contribute more of my time and I wanted to volunteer at the VA hospital. I did a little research but let it drop after not finding a way to make it happen. So it stayed on my list of things to do and life moved on. Two months ago some folks invited me to spend a day with the Vets @ the VA hospital in West LA. So I volunteered for a day program. A elderly Vet in a wheelchair called me over and asked if I could arrange for him to speak on the stage. I talked to the program people and helped him up and he shared his story.
Well he has a amazing story and an incredible life. He is 95 years old and was the longest held POW. He was held 7 years by the Japanese in WWII. He went on to be an actor and member of SAG and a lawyer and much more. He has since called me and we are going to try and capture his story on video. So he found me and I found a new story of life to share.
So to get back to my point of intention a lot of my life has worked that way where I have put something out there and a door opens and I walk through. The great thing about this is that every time I experience something new, learn something new and expand as a person.
So don't underestimate the power of intention. Life has a way of pleasantly surprising you. I know I have had many pleasant surprises......
